About this property

Welcome to Hotel Manoir

Located in the vibrant Saint-Denis district of Montréal, Hotel Manoir offers three-star accommodation with a practical and comfortable approach. Guests can expect free Wi-Fi, on-site parking, and a pet-friendly policy, making it suitable for a variety of travelers. The hotel operates a smoke-free environment and includes an on-site restaurant, though it does not feature a pool or fitness center.

The property sits amid a lively area known for theatres, cinemas, and the nearby UQAM campus, complemented by student-friendly bars along Rue Saint-Denis. This setting appeals particularly to visitors looking to stay close to cultural attractions and nightlife. Nearby landmarks such as the Notre-Dame Basilica, Mount Royal, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts offer ample opportunities for exploration.

Guest reviews often highlight the well-maintained interior and helpful staff, with some noting the clean, modern rooms equipped with private en-suite bathrooms and effective amenities like heating and air conditioning. Noise from neighboring units and the relatively small room sizes have been mentioned but do not appear to heavily impact the overall experience. The parking availability, limited to just two slots near the property, has occasionally drawn mixed feedback.

Easy access to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Montreal Metropolitan Airport further suits travelers prioritizing convenience. With several other hotels nearby, Hotel Manoir competes in an area popular for its range of lodging options. Its affordable rates and central location make it a practical choice for guests seeking a straightforward stay close to the city's cultural and urban highlights.

Great location. Well finished inside. Freindly staff. Only minor complaint is noise from the bathroom above.

I booked on another platform where the reviews were 4.8 stars and many happy comments from prior guests. Overall my experience was also very positive. Pros: Affordable; modern; private en-suite bathroom; clean*; everything simply worked as expected (heat, WiFi, microwave, shower, etc.); clear and helpful check-in instructions; great part of town** - overall I was very happy with the value for the price! All the towels and toiletries (shower gel, soap, and shampoo) were provided. It’s clear the management has been taking action to improve the service based on past reviews. Clean* = bins were emptied, room was not dusty at all. But there was noticeable water damage on the floor near the heater and the ceiling, and a stain on the bed’s duvet cover & insert in the pattern of a boot’s tread… but it smelled totally clean as if it were an old stain. A bit odd. Great part of town** = lively especially at night, very central and walkable with fun bars and restaurants and therefore you can expect some noise. I chose the location knowing that, so I was not bothered! Cons: the metal stairs to the front door are indeed very treacherous in the ice and snow; there is no elevator inside the building; I did also find a few ants in the bed - they seemed to be coming from the pillows, so I slept without those; the whole building smelled very clean but occasionally I got a strong whiff of weed or something similar - hard to tell if it was coming from inside or outside. Now the burning topic: I do NOT believe the hotel has bed bugs. (At least, not in room 303 in Jan 2025.) I have had them before, and always do a mattress flip and check before I even take off my shoes. I did that and found no signs of problems. The main symptom I experienced before was CRAZY swollen and itchy bites near blood vessels (e.g. on the ankles). I did not have anything like that during my stay or the two days after. Best practice to avoid taking unwanted passengers home is to always keep your suitcases zipped/closed, keep clothing off the bed and floor, etc.; I also preventatively spray the inside of all my bags with a repellent before traveling. Due to reading multiple reviews that express this concern, we are taking full measures: we bagged up and sealed off my suitcases (must stay this way for 9-12 months), textiles are being washed before they come inside, and anything that was not sealed in a plastic ziplock bag or going through the wash is being baked in the oven at 55C for 90 minutes (toiletry bags, books, etc). This is several days worth of work for a single night’s stay - although I am doing it for the absolute avoidance of doubt, I’m not happy that it seemed necessary based on the past reviews. I would like if the management addressed these here by commenting, and if they posted proof of a regular pest inspection or preventative treatment somewhere very visible in the building to provide customers some ease of mind.

Plus: Very central, nice neighborhood, very close to subway and central bus station (to and from airport), simple breakfast (croissant, cafe, orange juice), free wifi, nice reception people. Less: Very small room.

Honestly was a pretty good place given its oddly abysmal google map reviews. I was quite apprehensive until I got to the place. Following the instruction to open the main door using a code, and a subsequent code to open the hotel door exactly like an Airbnb, I was happy to see it being clean and comfortable with perfect air conditioning. No odor whatsoever from what other reviews are saying. Noise-wise it's also not too bad, nothing affecting our sleep. There are some oddities however, with our room missing small facial towels and another room having sky high clothes rack fit for a 7 footer.

The rooms are quite big and the staff (as well as the owner of the place) is extremely friendly and helpful. My only negative point would be for the parking: the hotel has 2 parking slots, in the street, behind the house, which they charge at the same rate as if it was an underground parking.

we booked the place with some hesitation in mind and when the very first day we checked in , we realized that it’s one of a kind property - unique, exquisite, classic and having huge aesthetic character of old world charm, far away from the made up present day modernity and its pretensions.

Staff are extremely homely and friendly, as if your own family! From the front desk to the breakfast providers - everyone is very courteous, very kind, very polite and very friendly! Exceptionally good is Carole who is just like your family and takes care of you very well while serving breakfast! Place is amazingly beautiful. Check out the pictures here.

The quality and facilities at this hotel were about average. The service was top notch and the price was right!
